Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role providing 1:1 support for a pupil who faces barriers to learning due to behavioural challenges. Your role will involve:

• Managing behaviour and developing positive coping strategies.
• Assisting teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Acting as a mentor and positive role model to build confidence and self-esteem.
• Liaising with teachers, parents, and external agencies to provide consistent and targeted support.

• Patient, empathetic, and committed to the wellbeing of pupils.
• Skilled in building positive relationships with children.
• Resilient and calm under pressure, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
• Experienced in working with children with behavioural needs, SEN, or mental health challenges.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent.
